Danger Zone
“The death toll from the horrific UPS cargo plane crash in Louisville, Kentucky, has risen to 13.”
“There will be a 10% reduction flights it 40 major airports to the impact of the federal government shutdown due to the impacts of the ongoing federal government shutdown, according to news reports.”
These headlines and others are relevant for the treacherous Mars opposite Uranus aspect highlighted in my last newsletter. It increased the likelihood of accidents, natural disasters, and highly charged situations, and occurred when Mars was in Sagittarius and Uranus was in Gemini, the two signs associated with travel and airlines.
Mercury Retrograde
“41.7 million Americans who rely on the currently paused Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will receive reduced benefits in November. The unprecedented disruption to the program leaves a lot of questions, and getting payments out in November is a multilayered issue.”
“Democrats consider prolonging the shutdown as Republicans prepare new bills without health care fix.”
These headlines and others are relevant for Mercury going retrograde early Sunday afternoon EST, which also means you are likely experiencing shifts in your thinking, attitudes, and plans. From my research, the five days before and after Mercury goes retrograde are the most significant days for Mercury Retrograde.
Unfortunately, many believe everything goes wrong when Mercury is retrograde. Still, many successful organizations, companies, corporations, and individuals have Mercury retrograde in their horoscopes.
Additionally, many people blame Mercury Retrograde for their problems and mishaps, when in fact, more significant factors are contributing to their difficulties, such as Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto making challenging aspects to important planets and points in their horoscopes.
Furthermore, Mercury retrograde periods favor inward-oriented activities such as reflection, reviewing, and meditation, making this a good time for writing, editing, researching, and problem-solving.
However, with Mercury ruling thoughts and communication, there will likely be more “mess-ups” and complications than usual, including mental lapses and mistakes, misunderstandings, false assumptions, missed appointments, lost checks, written typos, cancellations, and postponements.
Most importantly, the decisions you make and the plans you start with Mercury retrograde are more likely to take a twist and be seen differently when unforeseen assumptions and mistakes “come to light” after Mercury goes direct on November 29.
Current Sun Sign Factors

Guidelines for Using This Information
These newsletters are not your typical sun sign column. They provide much more information and guidance, but it may be challenging to sort everything out with so many factors presented, even for astrology students. Therefore, I keep everything as clear and straightforward as possible.
The most critical factor with right timing is what is occurring in your horoscope. When negative aspects dominate your horoscope, the chances of success with right timing diminish, no matter how favorable the aspects are in the sky. These newsletters cannot cover what is occurring in your horoscope. However, applying the information in these newsletters with common sense enables you to make more informed decisions and take more effective actions.
The basic premise with right timing is that it helps to have the “stars” on your side. Starting a marriage, trip, surgery, business, real estate deal, or a major purchase, for example, at an inopportune time reduces the chances of success, regardless of how good your intentions and how hard you try. The better the timing, the higher your chances of success. Even an hour can make a significant difference in important decisions and events.
The Moon enters each zodiac sign about every 28 days and remains in each sign for about two and a half days. When the Moon is in your sun sign, matters will likely come more together for you on a short-term basis unless significant aspects are currently challenging your horoscope.
The traits and qualities I assign to the signs in these newsletters describe the signs’ functions and meanings, versus describing your personality. However, the descriptions may be entirely accurate for you. Furthermore, to understand a person’s personality and character from an astrological perspective, dozens of factors besides one’s sun sign must be considered.
