Enhance Your Immunity

With COVID-19 rapidly evolving into a health crisis, we are seeing many emails and other materials promoting health claims, which are likely to be false. Although not a cure, there is a product I have full confidence in for yourself and your loved ones which can boost your immunity. It’s made by a lady here in Cincinnati, Donna Hartmann, who makes each bottle of her Elderberry Syrup with great love and care using the best natural and organic ingredients.

The cost for an 8.5 oz (250 ml) bottle is $75, which includes shipping and handling. Supplies are limited because there are shortages with the needed ingredients. So, contact me soon at info@edkluska.com or call me at 513-861-6100 if you are interested.

Background

Elderberry has been used for centuries as an everyday tonic to maintain health, as well as in acute cases, to relieve colds and flu. Many scientific studies (using real people!) have shown that elderberry can prevent and reduce the symptoms of upper respiratory viruses. It’s not often that you find a medicine that actually works and tastes delicious at the same time! See the two case studies below. (Note: Elderberry has not yet been researched on its effect on the novel coronavirus or COVID-19.)

The Organic Optimist’s Elderberry Syrup is made with organic dried black elderberries, simmered in distilled water along with organic dried rose hips, organic fresh ginger root, and cinnamon. It is then strained, and an equal amount of local raw honey is stirred in before bottling. These extra ingredients have powerful anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory qualities of their own and contribute to the potency of the syrup.

The pure and raw honey used with this product is an excellent natural preservative. A small amount of brandy is added to help extend the shelf life. This syrup can stay on the shelf, but it’s best to keep it refrigerated.

Instructions for Use

Shake well before using. A standard dose for everyday maintenance is 1 teaspoon once or twice a day (morning and evening). If you feel a cold or flu coming on, you can double this dose and take it 3 to 5 times a day. It tastes good, but you don’t want too much of a good thing, so don’t overdo it. Keep out of reach of children. Also, since it has honey in it, it’s not appropriate for children under one years old.

You can take your dose of Elderberry Syrup straight off the spoon (the best way), or it can be added to water or juice, smoothies, yogurt, or even cocktails.

Case Studies

One study followed 312 airline passengers flying overseas from Australia. Half were given an elderberry preparation and the other half got a placebo. Those taking the placebo had slightly more occurrences of a cold or influenza during their trip than did those taking the elderberry. More significantly, those taking the elderberry who did get a cold reported a marked reduction of cold duration and severity compared with those taking the placebo.

(Evelin Tiralongo, Shirley S. Wee, and Rodney A. Lea, “Elderberry Supplementation Reduces Cold Duration and Symptoms in Air-Travelers: A Randomized, Double-Blind Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial,” Nutrients 8, no. 4 (2016), doi:10.3390/nu8040182.)

In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study in Norway, researchers gave 60 patients with influenza-like symptoms of less than 48-hours duration either 15 ml of elderberry syrup four times a day or a placebo syrup. On average, those receiving the elderberry syrup reported that their symptoms were relieved four days sooner than those taking the placebo. As an additional benefit, those taking the elderberry syrup reported using significantly less over-the-counter medication to relieve their symptoms.
