Mercury turning direct is important because there are usually significant shifts and changes with our plans, decisions, negotiations, projects, and relationships. The choices you made and the plans you started with Mercury retrograde are now seen in a different light as unforeseen assumptions and mistakes "come to light” because Mercury, the planet ruling thinking and communication, is changing direction relative to the earth’s movement.
From my research, the five days before and after Mercury went retrograde (in this case Sunday, February 16 at 13 degrees Pisces) and the five days before and after Mercury goes direct (Monday, March 09 at 28 degrees Aquarius) seem to be the most significant days for Mercury retrograde periods.
With Mercury ruling thoughts and communication, there is more likely to be mental lapses and mistakes, misunderstandings, false assumptions, missed appointments, lost checks, written typos, and cancellations and postponements when Mercury is retrograde. Unfortunately, many people believe that when Mercury is retrograde, everything is supposed to go wrong. Still, many successful organizations, companies, corporations, and individuals have Mercury retrograde in their horoscopes.
Furthermore, too many people blame Mercury being retrograde for their problems and mishaps when, in fact, more significant astrological factors are contributing to their difficulties, such as Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto making challenging aspects to essential points in their horoscope.
But Mercury turning direct Monday evening should bring relief because Mercury retrograde periods tend to be problematic for many people. Furthermore, when Mercury approaches direct, strange, and peculiar things tend to happen, but then they often seem to resolve themselves almost “mysteriously.” All this does not mean that by mid next week, everything will be fine and dandy for you and the world. Nor does this mean everything was supposed to go wrong the past three weeks when Mercury was retrograde.
