Mercury Retrograde
Ed Kluska’s Astrology Newsletter
This weekend there are no significant * factors, but Venus enters Aquarius today and there are five significant lunar aspects: Moon-Saturn and Moon-Pluto today, Moon-Uranus and Moon-Venus on Saturday, and Moon-Mars on Sunday.
More significant are two important * factors early next week. Tuesday Mercury goes retrograde explained below, and Wednesday Uranus enters Taurus covered in my next newsletter.
Mercury Retrograde
About five days before and after Mercury goes retrograde (in this case Tuesday, March 05) and then about five days before and after Mercury goes direct (Thursday, March 28) seem to be the most significant days for Mercury retrograde periods.
With Mercury retrograde, you need to be more careful with your thinking, plans, and decisions. Typically, there are more “mess ups” and complications than usual because Mercury rules our thinking and communication.
There’s more likely to be mental lapses and mistakes, misunderstandings, false assumptions, missed appointments, lost checks, written typos, and cancellations and postponements. When you travel, for example, you are more likely to encounter longer delays, misplaced luggage, lost hotel room keys, unforeseen detours, and inaccurate directions.
Also, the decisions you make and the plans you start with Mercury retrograde are more likely to take a twist later and be seen in a different light when unforeseen assumptions and mistakes "come to light” after Mercury goes direct.
However, as I have emphasized in all my Mercury retrograde newsletters, people blame too much on Mercury being retrograde when they are having problems. They are not aware that there are other factors contributing to their issues such as challenging transits from Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto to their horoscope.
Furthermore, Mercury retrograde periods are favorable for inwardly-oriented activities such as reflection, reviewing, and meditation. So, when Mercury is retrograde, it’s good to allow more time for writing, editing, researching, and problem-solving.
Many successful organizations, companies, corporations, and individuals have Mercury retrograde, but unfortunately, many people continue to believe that when Mercury is retrograde, everything is supposed to go wrong.

Venus, the planet of love, affection, and money, at 00 to 03 degrees Aquarius is benefiting the house in your horoscope ruled by Aquarius and anyone with planets and points early in the fixed signs (Taurus Leo Scorpio Aquarius).
Mars, the planet of effort and desire, from 10 to 12 degrees Taurus is likely bringing stress and conflicts for anyone born around the thirtieth of January, July, August, September, October, and November and anyone with planets or points at 10 to 12 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Aquarius.
Jupiter, the planet of hope, expansion, and good fortune, at 22 degrees Sagittarius, brings opportunities for anyone born around the thirteenth of any month, especially December, and for any planets and points in your horoscope around 22 degrees.
Aries, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Libra, and Capricorn should know that Saturn at 18 degrees Capricorn is likely creating challenges, tests, delays, losses, and realities for anyone born around the ninth of January, April, June, July, August, and October and for anyone with points or planets around 18 degrees of Aries, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Libra, and Capricorn.

Aries, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Libra, and Capricorn should know that Pluto, the planet of transformation and new beginnings at 22.5 degrees Capricorn, is likely producing significant changes for those born around the thirteenth of January, April, June, July, August, and October, and for anyone with planets or points around 22 degrees of the above signs.
Friday, March 01
11:45 AM * (Venus enters Aquarius) where it remains until March 26 when it enters the next sign, Pisces. Venus in Aquarius brings blessings and benefits to Aquarius, and a lesser degree to the other air signs (Gemini and Libra) as well as the house in your horoscope ruled by Aquarius.
01:22 PM + - (Moon in Capricorn 00 Saturn in Capricorn) this once a month heavy-duty lunar aspect can manifest both positively and negatively. It provides an atmosphere for orderly, steady, conscientious, pragmatic, and realistic plans and activities, especially involving business and professional matters because Capricorn is involved. However, this aspect can also bring harsh realities about your family and the females in your life. People with this lunar aspect are responsible, hard-working, and conscientious, but can also be somber, pessimistic, lonely, and find it difficult to express their feelings and emotions.
10:48 PM + - (Moon in Capricorn 00 Pluto in Capricorn) this once a month powerful lunar aspect symbolizes females who are influential, productive, and psychic. However, this aspect also increases the possibilities for subtle yet highly charged emotional situations involving manipulation, hidden motives, and power struggles, although these factors are often not realized until later.
Saturday, March 02
06:03 AM + (Moon in Capricorn 180 Node in Cancer) favors connecting with people such as networking and reaching out to others because it enhances social interactions as well as any alliances with groups large and small.
01:47 PM - (Moon in Capricorn 90 Uranus in Aries) this stress-producing aspect increases willfulness and instincts but also brings nervousness, anxiety, upsets, restlessness, excitability, volatility, and emotionally charged situations, especially involving females.
01:47 PM Moon in Capricorn Void until 02:06 PM when it enters the next sign, Aquarius, where remains until early Tuesday morning.
05:02 PM + (Moon in Aquarius 00 Venus in Aquarius) this lovely once a month lunar aspect is terrific for any social interaction because it fosters cooperation, cheerfulness, affections, pleasantries, gracefulness, emotional sharing, and artistic expression, especially involving females.
Sunday, March 03
01:53 PM - (Moon in Aquarius 90 Mars in Taurus) intensifies interpersonal situations and is likely to bring impatience, impulsiveness, strong desires, and even anger and forceful actions, especially involving females. If you are trying to resolve an issue with someone, for example, be aware that upsets and volatile emotions are more likely than rational thinking.
Guidelines for Using This Information
I keep this information as clear and straightforward as possible, but even for students of astrology, it can be difficult to sort everything out. There are many factors to consider, and sometimes the overlapping influences are contradictory. You might say this is just like life.
For starts, keep in mind that these newsletters are not intended to tell you what is going to happen in your life at the times given. Instead, the aspect descriptions provide some of the possible influences you can expect around the times given so you can more wisely plan for and participate in your life. Often, it is obvious which time frames are better than others for timing or starting a party, trip, decision, business, or any other event, for example.
The star (*) factors are more significance for right timing because they are in effect for a more extended time (often up to a week). Any business, project, decision, relationship, wedding, and childbirth, for example, started around the dates given will have the qualities and characteristics of the descriptions listed.
The lunar (Moon) aspects listed are less significant because they are in effect for only hours (versus days) before and until the times (Eastern Time) given, but they are still quite relevant for right timing.
The plus (+) factors for both the * factors and lunar factors are favorable. The minus (-) factors are more likely to bring challenges or difficulties. Sometimes there is a + and - factor which means the aspect can exhibit both positive and negative influences.
The most critical factor with right timing is what’s occurring in your horoscope. When negative aspects dominate your horoscope, the chances of success with right timing diminish no matter how favorable the aspects are in the sky. These newsletters cannot cover what is occurring in your horoscope, but if you apply the information in these newsletters with common sense, you have an advantage with timing your decisions and activities.
The basic premise with right timing is that it helps to have the "stars" on your side. Starting a marriage, trip, surgery, business, real estate deal, or a major purchase, for example, at an inopportune time reduces the chances of success no matter how good your intentions and how hard you try. The better the timing, the higher your chances of success. Even an hour can make a significant difference in important decisions and events.
During Void periods there tends to be a lull in the energy levels, and what you start, or implement is less likely to turn out the way you planned or expected. So, it’s usually better to do things with less significance or no purpose in mind versus trying to start something new and vital. If you have a new idea, meet someone new, or start a business, for example, those activities are less likely to amount to much.
The Moon enters each sign of the zodiac about every 28 days and remains in that sign for about two and a half days. When the Moon’s in your sun sign, matters are likely to come more together for you on a short-term basis unless there are significant aspects currently challenging your horoscope.
Note that the traits and qualities I assign to each sign in these newsletters describe more the functions and meanings of the signs versus trying to describe your personality, although at times the descriptions may be entirely accurate. Furthermore, to understand a person’s personality and character from an astrological perspective, there are a multitude of factors in a horoscope to consider besides one's sun sign.
