An Intense Week

Ed Kluska’s Astrology Newsletter

If you have been feeling a bit edgy or restless this past week, you can blame it on the stars. My recent newsletters indicated that this week would be more intense than it has been in a while. Most of you are likely fine, but for those facing important issues and decisions, and those experiencing problematic patterns in their horoscope, this week is a test.

Whenever two or more significant and challenging * factors occur in a short period, matters become more intense and issues are forced to come to a head. In this case, among other things, it may be the extreme weather, all those stuck at airports, all the accidents and injuries, and the gridlock in Washington, DC.

Sun in Capricorn square Uranus in Aries peaked yesterday. This solar aspect was especially relevant for anyone with a planet or point around 25-28 degrees of the cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn). As described in my last newsletter, challenging Sun-Uranus aspects bring shocks, disputes, intolerance, surprises, instability, restlessness, ego-battles, and highly charged situations, especially involving males. They also increase the possibilities for high winds, electrical storms, weather extremes, tornadoes, earthquakes as well as accidents, shootings, violence, wars, anarchy and revolutions, attacks, aggression, violence, natural disasters, earthquakes, and escalated military tensions.

Another significant and challenging * factor in effect this past week becomes exact Monday. Mars in Aries square Saturn in Capricorn is also a major stress producing aspect which intensifies matters and brings controversies and issues into focus. Tensions run high, and people feel frustrated. Fears, delays, disputes, bitterness, uncertainties, and heightened differences are more likely. The probabilities also increase for accidents, violence, murders, crime, terrorism, and military conflicts.

For most people (depending on your horoscope and personal cycles), nothing special will happen, but those with their Sun, Moon, planets, and points around thirteen degrees of the cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn) should be more vigilant.

For now, it is more appropriate to be cautious and patient than aggressive and demanding. Stay focused and catch up with what is already in front of you. Mars-Saturn aspects are favorable for hard work, focused efforts, determination, persistence, and endurance.

Furthermore, there is a special Lunar Eclipse on Monday, and over the next two days there are several challenging lunar aspects described in this newsletter. But rest assured, come Monday afternoon, matters should be less intense.

So, when a client asked me a month ago about starting a new business around this time, and another client asked me about making an important decision around this time, I explained to them what was going on in the sky and advised them to postpone their decisions and work with me to choose a better time to take action.

As explained many times in these newsletters, Electional Astrology involves choosing the best time to start or initiate an activity such as a surgery, wedding, vacation, or a new business. Nothing is guaranteed with right timing, but it sure helps to put the "stars" on your side. If you start something at an inopportune or stressful time, your chances of success are diminished no matter how good your intentions and how hard you try.

Saturday, January 19

07:27 PM - (Moon in Cancer 90 Mars in Aries) intensifies interpersonal situations and is likely to bring impatience, impulsiveness, strong desires, and even anger and forceful actions, especially involving females. If you are trying to resolve an issue with someone, for example, be aware that volatile emotions are more likely than rational thinking.

08:48 PM - (Moon in Cancer 180 Saturn in Capricorn) provides an atmosphere for orderly, steady, conscientious, pragmatic, and realistic plans and activities. However, this lunar aspect can create issues, worries, and differences, especially involving females and families.

10:19 PM + (Moon in Cancer 120 Neptune in Pisces) favors right brain activities such as healing, prayer, spirituality, mysticism, meditation, psychic phenomena, daydreaming, imagination, creativity, music, art, and other creative endeavors.

Sunday, January 20

12:02 AM + (Moon in Cancer 150 Jupiter in Sagittarius) favors interpersonal situations and working with the public because this lunar aspect increases the possibilities for kindness, benevolence, positive attitudes, shared feelings, and uplifting emotional support.

03:59 AM * (Sun enters Aquarius) aids Aquarius and the other air signs (Gemini and Libra) over the coming month.

09:01 AM - (Moon in Cancer 180 Pluto in Capricorn) can create complicated interpersonal situations, especially involving females and family matters. Subtle yet highly charged emotional situations involving manipulation, hidden motives, and power struggles are more likely although these factors may not be fully realized until later.

05:48 PM + (Moon in Cancer 00 Node in Cancer) this once a month lunar aspect favors connecting with people such as networking and reaching out to others because it enhances social interactions as well as any alliances with groups large and small.

08:49 PM - (Moon in Cancer 90 Uranus in Aries) enhances instincts and willfulness but also intensifies everything by bringing nervousness, anxiety, upsets, restlessness, excitability, and emotionally charged situations.

10:10 PM and 10:15 PM + (Moon in Cancer makes minor aspects to both Venus and Neptune in a short period) which can create feelings of kindness, generosity, benevolence, and uplifting emotional support. This combination also creates an atmosphere for spiritual and artistic endeavors.

10:15 PM Moon in Cancer Void until 10:54 PM when it enters the next sign, Leo.

Guidelines for Using This Information

I keep this information as clear and straightforward as possible, but even for students of astrology, it can be difficult to sort everything out. There are many factors to consider, and sometimes the overlapping influences are contradictory. You might say this is just like life.

For starts, keep in mind that these newsletters are not intended to tell you what is going to happen in your life at the times given. Instead, the aspect descriptions provide some of the possible influences you can expect around the times given so you can more wisely plan for and participate in your life. Often, it is obvious which time frames are better than others for timing or starting a party, trip, decision, business, or any other event, for example.

The star (*) factors are more significance for right timing because they are in effect for a more extended time (often up to a week). Any business, project, decision, relationship, wedding, and childbirth, for example, started around the dates given will have the qualities and characteristics of the descriptions listed.

The lunar (Moon) aspects listed are less significant because they are in effect for only hours (versus days) before and until the times (Eastern Time) given, but they are still quite relevant for right timing.

The plus (+) factors for both the * factors and lunar factors are favorable. The minus (-) factors are more likely to bring challenges or difficulties. Sometimes there is a + and - factor which means the aspect can exhibit both positive and negative influences.

The most critical factor with right timing is what’s occurring in your horoscope. When negative aspects dominate your horoscope, the chances of success with right timing diminish no matter how favorable the aspects are in the sky. These newsletters cannot cover what is occurring in your horoscope, but if you apply the information in these newsletters with common sense, you have an advantage with timing your decisions and activities.

The basic premise with right timing is that it helps to have the "stars" on your side. Starting a marriage, trip, surgery, business, real estate deal, or a major purchase, for example, at an inopportune time reduces the chances of success no matter how good your intentions and how hard you try. The better the timing, the higher your chances of success. Even an hour can make a significant difference in important decisions and events.

During Void periods there tends to be a lull in the energy levels, and what you start, or implement is less likely to turn out the way you planned or expected. So, it’s usually better to do things with less significance or no purpose in mind versus trying to start something new and vital. If you have a new idea, meet someone new, or start a business, for example, those activities are less likely to amount to much.

The Moon enters each sign of the zodiac about every 28 days and remains in that sign for about two and a half days. When the Moon’s in your sun sign, matters are likely to come more together for you on a short-term basis unless there are significant aspects currently challenging your horoscope.

Note that the traits and qualities I assign to each sign in these newsletters describe more the functions and meanings of the signs versus trying to describe your personality, although at times the descriptions may be entirely accurate. Furthermore, to understand a person’s personality and character from an astrological perspective, there are a multitude of factors in a horoscope to consider besides one's sun sign.
