The Storm
Ed Kluska’s Astrology Newsletter
The coming week is more intense in the sky than it has been in a while as implied by the title of my last newsletter “Calm Before the Storm”. Most newsletters have one or two * factors over three days. This Friday has three * factors alone. Two are positive, and the third is a powerful and challenging Sun square Uranus aspect especially relevant for anyone with a planet or point around 25-28 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn. Furthermore, a nasty aspect, Mars square Saturn, in effect this past week becomes exact next Tuesday.
Because any business, project, decision, relationship, wedding, and childbirth started around these dates will have the qualities and characteristics of the descriptions listed in these newsletters, the horoscopes for these children, decisions, and events will be more intense and significant than most others.
Heavy & Light
With the Sun in Capricorn and the Moon in Gemini from this evening until Friday evening, we have a Sun-Moon combination which requires adjustments due to the innate differences between the earth-sign Capricorn and the air-sign Gemini. Earth and air do not mix well. It gets a bit dry and dusty. The winds of the air blow against the soil of the earth.
Capricorn is the introvert: more protective, guarded, and less easy to get to know. Gemini is the extrovert: more friendly, sociable, and easier to get to know. Capricorn is more intense, serious, and private. Gemini is more casual, easy-going, and lighthearted.
Capricorn can be too ponderous. Gemini can be too frivolous. Capricorn is cautious, solemn, and businesslike. Gemini is more playful, chatty, and adventuresome. Capricorn is a straight lineaimed toward a specific goal. Gemini is a wiggly line jumping around as it adjusts to its varied interests.
Capricorn rules aging and the elderly. Gemini rules teenagers and early education. Capricorn is what is old and established. Gemini is what is new and fresh. Capricorn is a cold, dry winter day. Gemini is a nice, breezy spring day. Capricorn rules rocks and lead (more heavy and downward). Gemini rules air and butterflies (more light and amorphous).
Despite all these differences, this is a smart and capable combination with many intellectual talents and professional skills. Capricorn’s organizational and business skills can work well with Gemini’s educational and communication skills to produce successful results.

Wednesday, January 16
08:00 PM Moon entered Gemini where it remains until late Friday evening when it enters the next sign, Cancer. Moon in Gemini favors Gemini and any planets you have in the sign Gemini as well as anyone's involvement with Gemini-related activities such as sales; making new friends and personal contacts; reading, writing, and intellectual pursuits; and short trips for fun, pleasure, and education.
Thursday, January 17
02:53 PM + (Moon in Gemini 180 Venus in Sagittarius) fosters cooperation, cheerfulness, affections, pleasantries, gracefulness, emotional sharing, and artistic expression, especially involving females.
07:01 PM - (Moon in Gemini 150 Saturn in Capricorn) provides an atmosphere for orderly, steady, conscientious, pragmatic, and realistic plans and activities, especially involving business and professional matters. However, this lunar aspect can create issues, worries, and differences, especially involving females and families. People with this lunar aspect are typically responsible, hard-working, and conscientious, but can also be lonely, melancholic, and find it difficult to express their feelings and emotions.
07:30 PM - (Moon in Gemini 45 Uranus in Aries) enhances instincts and willfulness but also brings nervousness, anxiety, upsets, restlessness, excitability, and emotionally charged situations.
08:56 PM - (Moon in Gemini 90 Neptune in Pisces) increases the possibilities for haziness and emotional confusion as well as highly refined artistic and spiritual feelings and aspirations. This period is better for daydreaming, imagination, creativity, prayer, and meditation than for logical discussions and clear-cut decisions.
10:10 PM + (Moon in Gemini 180 Jupiter in Sagittarius) favors interpersonal situations and working with the public because this lunar aspect increases the possibilities for kindness, benevolence, positive attitudes, shared feelings, and uplifting emotional support.
Friday, January 18
07:18 AM + (Moon in Gemini 150 Mercury in Capricorn) favors reflection, writing, and communication because this lunar aspect creates a more active exchange between the conscious and unconscious minds.
08:09 AM - (Moon in Gemini 150 Pluto in Capricorn) can create complicated interpersonal situations, especially involving females and family matters. Subtle yet highly charged emotional situations involving manipulation, hidden motives, and power struggles are more likely although these factors may not be fully realized until later.
11:49 AM + * (Venus in Sagittarius 120 Mars in Aries) is more important because it’s in effect this past week. People with this harmonious aspect can be warm, sensual, and easily express their feelings as well as their artistic and creative talents.
03:03 PM + * (Mercury in Capricorn 00 Pluto in Capricorn) is another positive aspect in effect this past week. People with this aspect have deep and penetrating minds and are interested in anything secret, mysterious, or hidden, including the deeper aspects of the human psyche. They possess an aptitude for private investigation, psychology, and research, and are drawn to esoteric studies.
08:30 PM - * (Sun in Capricorn 90 Uranus in Aries) is a powerful aspect dominating the sky the past week. It typically brings shocks, disputes, intolerance, surprises, instability, restlessness, ego-battles, and highly charged situations, especially involving males.
Sun Uranus aspects also increase the possibilities for high winds, electrical storms, weather extremes, tornadoes, earthquakes as well as accidents, shootings, violence, wars, anarchy and revolutions, attacks, aggression, violence, natural disasters, earthquakes, and escalated military tensions.
On the plus side, Sun Uranus aspects generate originality, creativity, innovations, and breakthroughs. I hope you are experiencing new insights and different ways of looking at your life which will lead to exciting possibilities in your future.
08:32 PM - (Moon in Gemini 150 Sun in Capricorn) this Sun-Moon combination is described at the start of this newsletter.
08:32 PM Moon in Gemini Void until 10:43 PM when it enters the next sign, Cancer.
Guidelines for Using This Information
I keep this information as clear and straightforward as possible, but even for students of astrology, it can be difficult to sort everything out. There are many factors to consider, and sometimes the overlapping influences are contradictory. You might say this is just like life.
For starts, keep in mind that these newsletters are not intended to tell you what is going to happen in your life at the times given. Instead, the aspect descriptions provide some of the possible influences you can expect around the times given so you can more wisely plan for and participate in your life. Often, it is obvious which time frames are better than others for timing or starting a party, trip, decision, business, or any other event, for example.
The star (*) factors are more significance for right timing because they are in effect for a more extended time (often up to a week). Any business, project, decision, relationship, wedding, and childbirth, for example, started around the dates given will have the qualities and characteristics of the descriptions listed.
The lunar (Moon) aspects listed are less significant because they are in effect for only hours (versus days) before and until the times (Eastern Time) given, but they are still quite relevant for right timing.
The plus (+) factors for both the * factors and lunar factors are favorable. The minus (-) factors are more likely to bring challenges or difficulties. Sometimes there is a + and - factor which means the aspect can exhibit both positive and negative influences.
The most critical factor with right timing is what’s occurring in your horoscope. When negative aspects dominate your horoscope, the chances of success with right timing diminish no matter how favorable the aspects are in the sky. These newsletters cannot cover what is occurring in your horoscope, but if you apply the information in these newsletters with common sense, you have an advantage with timing your decisions and activities.
The basic premise with right timing is that it helps to have the "stars" on your side. Starting a marriage, trip, surgery, business, real estate deal, or a major purchase, for example, at an inopportune time reduces the chances of success no matter how good your intentions and how hard you try. The better the timing, the higher your chances of success. Even an hour can make a significant difference in important decisions and events.
During Void periods there tends to be a lull in the energy levels, and what you start, or implement is less likely to turn out the way you planned or expected. So, it’s usually better to do things with less significance or no purpose in mind versus trying to start something new and vital. If you have a new idea, meet someone new, or start a business, for example, those activities are less likely to amount to much.
The Moon enters each sign of the zodiac about every 28 days and remains in that sign for about two and a half days. When the Moon’s in your sun sign, matters are likely to come more together for you on a short-term basis unless there are significant aspects currently challenging your horoscope.
Note that the traits and qualities I assign to each sign in these newsletters describe more the functions and meanings of the signs versus trying to describe your personality, although at times the descriptions may be entirely accurate. Furthermore, to understand a person’s personality and character from an astrological perspective, there are a multitude of factors in a horoscope to consider besides one's sun sign.
