Plus Days

Ed Kluska’s Astrology Newsletter

The stars are on the plus side the next three days. The best time frame is Friday morning when there's a cluster of favorable aspects. Hopefully, your horoscope is also on the plus side this week.

Moon in Sagittarius from this morning until Friday afternoon favors Sagittarius and any planets and points in your horoscope in Sagittarius. Recall that when the Moon’s in your sun sign, matters are likely to come more together for you on a short-term basis unless there are adverse aspects currently challenging your horoscope.

Moon in Sagittarius also favors anyone’s involvement with Sagittarius-related matters such as: feeling more optimistic and forward-looking; sports, athletics, working out, and outdoor activities; books, knowledge, and academics; promotion, advertising, and marketing; and foreign and international matters.

Sign Contrasts

With Sun in the earth-sign Capricorn and Moon in the fire-sign Capricorn, we have two signs with distinctly different approaches to life.

Sagittarius is more open, flexible, idealistic, assuming, and exploratory. Capricorn is more set, guarded, doubtful, pragmatic, and focused. Capricorn represents downtown and city life. Sagittarius is the outdoors and country living.

Sagittarius is more liberal and extravagant. Capricorn is more conservative and frugal. Sagittarius says too much, and Capricorn says not enough. With Sagittarius, the barn door is wide open. With Capricorn, there are safety, security, and precautionary measures.

Sagittarius is more flexible and adaptable. It’s the risk taker with far-reaching visions off into the future. Capricorn is more dependable and security-oriented, more focused and accountable with what is right here-and-now. In short, Sagittarius is the half-full optimistic and Capricorn the half-empty pessimistic.

Sagittarius relies more on faith and good luck to get where they want to go while Capricorn depends on good-old fortitude and hard work. Sagittarius is big hopes and dreams. Capricorn can bring them down to reality and put them into a workable format.

In the end, this is a capable and ambitious sign combination with many professional skills and possibilities. Both signs have a logical, scientific, and technical bent. Sagittarius’s ability to market and promote can work well with Capricorn’s organizational and business skills.

Wednesday, January 02

03:58 AM Moon entered the fire sign Sagittarius where it remains until Friday afternoon when it enters the next sign, Capricorn.

05:41 AM + (Moon in Sagittarius 120 Mars in Aries) creates a time to trust your instincts and to be more bold and direct especially with how you feel.

Thursday, January 03

03:23 AM + (Moon in Sagittarius 00 Jupiter in Sagittarius) this terrific once a month lunar aspect is particularly favorable for marketing, promotion, and other Sagittarius-related activities. It also favors interpersonal situations and working with the public because it increases the possibilities for kindness, benevolence, positive attitudes, shared feelings, and uplifting emotional support.

06:59 AM - (Moon in Sagittarius 90 Neptune in Pisces) increases the possibilities for haziness and emotional confusion as well as highly refined artistic and spiritual feelings and aspirations. This period is better for daydreaming, imagination, creativity, prayer, and meditation than for logical discussions and clear-cut decisions.

Friday, January 04

12:12 AM + * (Mercury in Sagittarius 120 Uranus in Aries) this aspect has been in effect for the past week. People with this aspect in their horoscope are independent and freethinking. They dislike being told what to do and how to do things. They do better in an unstructured environment which allows them to make your own decisions and respond to the needs of the moment rather than following a routine and standardized way of doing things. Their minds function in an intuitive, nonlinear fashion and sudden insights and flashes of inspiration often come "out of the blue". They have an aptitude for science and new technologies as well as a penchant for astrology and other esoteric sciences.

07:31 AM + (Moon in Sagittarius 150 Node in Cancer) favors reaching out to others and networking because this aspect enhances social interactions as well as any connections or alliances with groups large and small.

10:24 AM + (Moon in Sagittarius 90 Chiron in Pisces) symbolizes caring women and special opportunities for healing relationships and families.

11:09 AM + (Moon in Sagittarius 120 Uranus in Aries) brings opportunities for instincts, intuition, and forward-looking aspirations especially regarding anything that is new, different, and exciting because it involves the fire signs, Aries and Sagittarius.

12:41 PM + (Moon in Sagittarius 00 Mercury in Sagittarius) this once a month lunar aspect is terrific for creating a more active exchange between one’s conscious and unconscious minds which brings opportunities for communication, discussions, writing, and sales.

12:41 PM Moon in Sagittarius Void until 01:54 PM when it enters the next sign, Capricorn.

Guidelines for Using This Information

I keep this information as clear and straightforward as possible, but even for students of astrology, it can be difficult to sort everything out. There are many factors to consider, and sometimes the overlapping influences are contradictory. You might say this is just like life.

For starts, keep in mind that these newsletters are not intended to tell you what is going to happen in your life at the times given. Instead, the aspect descriptions provide some of the possible influences you can expect around the times given so you can more wisely plan for and participate in your life. Often, it is obvious which time frames are better than others for timing or starting a party, trip, decision, business, or any other event, for example.

The star (*) factors are more significance for right timing because they are in effect for a more extended time (often up to a week). Any business, project, decision, relationship, wedding, and childbirth, for example, started around the dates given will have the qualities and characteristics of the descriptions listed.

The lunar (Moon) aspects listed are less significant because they are in effect for only hours (versus days) before and until the times (Eastern Time) given, but they are still quite relevant for right timing.

The plus (+) factors for both the * factors and lunar factors are favorable. The minus (-) factors are more likely to bring challenges or difficulties. Sometimes there is a + and - factor which means the aspect can exhibit both positive and negative influences.

The most critical factor with right timing is what’s occurring in your horoscope. When negative aspects dominate your horoscope, the chances of success with right timing diminish no matter how favorable the aspects are in the sky. These newsletters cannot cover what is occurring in your horoscope, but if you apply the information in these newsletters with common sense, you have an advantage with timing your decisions and activities.

The basic premise with right timing is that it helps to have the "stars" on your side. Starting a marriage, trip, surgery, business, real estate deal, or a major purchase, for example, at an inopportune time reduces the chances of success no matter how good your intentions and how hard you try. The better the timing, the higher your chances of success. Even an hour can make a significant difference in important decisions and events.

During Void periods there tends to be a lull in the energy levels, and what you start, or implement is less likely to turn out the way you planned or expected. So, it’s usually better to do things with less significance or no purpose in mind versus trying to start something new and vital. If you have a new idea, meet someone new, or start a business, for example, those activities are less likely to amount to much.

The Moon enters each sign of the zodiac about every 28 days and remains in that sign for about two and a half days. When the Moon’s in your sun sign, matters are likely to come more together for you on a short-term basis unless there are significant aspects currently challenging your horoscope.

Note that the traits and qualities I assign to each sign in these newsletters describe more the functions and meanings of the signs versus trying to describe your personality, although at times the descriptions may be entirely accurate. Furthermore, to understand a person’s personality and character from an astrological perspective, there are a multitude of factors in a horoscope to consider besides one's sun sign.
