Christmas Days

Ed Kluska’s Astrology Newsletter

I wish you and your loved ones the happiest of holidays!

As covered in these newsletters, the Moon changes signs about every two and half days. Today, the day before Christmas, the Moon enters Leo which boosts the fire sign Leo and any planets and points in your horoscope in Leo. Moon in Leo is particularly suitable for Christmas because Leo is related to fun, parties, entertainment, and celebrations as well generosity, good cheers, children, and loved ones.

For the next three days, as always, be aware of the challenging lunar aspects, but the most challenging factor in this newsletter is Mercury square Neptune. In effect this past week and ending later today, this aspect explains to some degree the uncertainties and chaos playing out in Washington DC with our government shutdown, the sudden resignations, and our withdrawal for Syria. Mercury rules communication, negotiations, plans, and agreements. Discordant aspects to Neptune bring confusion, deception, faulty reasoning, and a lack of clarity and finality.

Leo Capricorn

With Sun now in hard-working Capricorn and the Moon in fun-loving Leo, it’s good to know the differences between these two signs, especially if Leo and Capricorn are emphasized in your horoscope or your relationships, or you know people with these signs emphasized.

Leo and Capricorn can bring mighty successes. Many successful professionals, executives, and business leaders, especially in the entertainment business, have this sign combination. Both signs are strong and willful. They like power and the good things life can provide.

Leo brings its naturally confident, generous, and sunny nature to whatever it is involved with. Capricorn offers pragmatism, focused efforts, and executive skills. But there are some differences that require understanding and adjustments.

Leo is more friendly, spontaneous, expressive, and easier to get to know. They enjoy the moment. Let’s go out and party. Capricorn is more guarded and cautious. They often sacrifice immediate pleasures for future goals. Let me stay longer at the office so I can plan for tomorrow.

Leo is the child and Capricorn the parent. Leo is a warm, sunny summer day. Capricorn is a cold, overcast winter day. Leo is naturally confident while Capricorn must prove itself first. Leo believes recognition and success are their birthrights. Here I am. The world owes me a lot. Capricorn assumes it must work long and hard to deserve such status.

The dramatic, pompous and extravagant nature of Leo can throw off Capricorn’s sensible and conservative plans. The pragmatism of earth Capricorn can smother the spontaneous, loving nature of Leo. Leo is teaching Capricorn to be more relaxed, expressive, playful, and childlike. Capricorn is teaching Leo to be more focused on their work and responsibilities and to realize that not everything is fun and games. You must work for what you get.

Monday, December 24

09:50 AM - (Moon in Cancer 90 Uranus in Aries) enhances instincts but also brings nervousness, anxiety, upsets, willfulness, restlessness, excitability, and emotionally charged situations.

09:50 AM Moon in Cancer Void until 11:58 AM when it enters the next sign, Leo, where it remains until early Wednesday afternoon when it enters the next sign, Virgo.

04:52 PM - (Moon in Leo 150 Sun in Capricorn) the relationship between Leo and Capricorn is described at the top of this newsletter.

07:31 PM - * (Mercury in Sagittarius 90 Neptune in Pisces) this Mercury aspect is favorable for imagination and creativity because it’s related to the world of dreams, fantasy, fiction, art, music, movies, drama, and the psychic. However, with this aspect, you need to be careful with your thinking and assumptions. The imagination associated with Neptune can get out of hand and affect the logical part of Mercury. Things can be too good to be true. The mind can play tricks. False assumptions are made. These effects are subtle but real. Mercury is thinking, and with a discordant Neptune, there can be lies, confusion, deception, faulty reasoning, and a lack of clarity and finality.

People with this lunar aspect are typically responsible, hard-working, and conscientious, but can also be lonely, melancholic, and find it difficult to express their feelings and emotions.

10:34 AM - (Moon in Leo 150 Neptune in Pisces) increases the possibilities for haziness and emotional confusion as well as highly refined artistic and spiritual feelings and aspirations. This period is better for daydreaming, imagination, creativity, prayer, and meditation than for logical discussions and clear-cut decisions.

09:03 PM - (Moon in Leo 150 Pluto in Capricorn) can create complicated interpersonal situations, especially involving females and family matters. Guidelines for Using This Information

I keep this information as clear and straightforward as possible, but even for students of astrology, it can be difficult to sort everything out. There are many factors to consider, and sometimes the overlapping influences are contradictory. You might say this is just like life.

For starts, keep in mind that these newsletters are not intended to tell you what is going to happen in your life at the times given. Instead, the aspect descriptions provide some of the possible influences you can expect around the times given so you can more wisely plan for and participate in your life. Often, it is obvious which time frames are better than others for timing or starting a party, trip, decision, business, or any other event, for example.

The star (*) factors are more significance for right timing because they are in effect for a more extended time (often up to a week). Any business, project, decision, relationship, wedding, and childbirth, for example, started around the dates given will have the qualities and characteristics of the descriptions listed.

The lunar (Moon) aspects listed are less significant because they are in effect for only hours (versus days) before and until the times (Eastern Time) given, but they are still quite relevant for right timing.

The plus (+) factors for both the * factors and lunar factors are favorable. The minus (-) factors are more likely to bring challenges or difficulties. Sometimes there is a + and - factor which means the aspect can exhibit both positive and negative influences.

The most critical factor with right timing is what’s occurring in your horoscope. When negative aspects dominate your horoscope, the chances of success with right timing diminish no matter how favorable the aspects are in the sky. These newsletters cannot cover what is occurring in your horoscope, but if you apply the information in these newsletters with common sense, you have an advantage with timing your decisions and activities.

The basic premise with right timing is that it helps to have the "stars" on your side. Starting a marriage, trip, surgery, business, real estate deal, or a major purchase, for example, at an inopportune time reduces the chances of success no matter how good your intentions and how hard you try. The better the timing, the higher your chances of success. Even an hour can make a significant difference in important decisions and events.

During Void periods there tends to be a lull in the energy levels, and what you start, or implement is less likely to turn out the way you planned or expected. So, it’s usually better to do things with less significance or no purpose in mind versus trying to start something new and vital. If you have a new idea, meet someone new, or start a business, for example, those activities are less likely to amount to much.

The Moon enters each sign of the zodiac about every 28 days and remains in that sign for about two and a half days. When the Moon’s in your sun sign, matters are likely to come more together for you on a short-term basis unless there are significant aspects currently challenging your horoscope.

Note that the traits and qualities I assign to each sign in these newsletters describe more the functions and meanings of the signs versus trying to describe your personality, although at times the descriptions may be entirely accurate. Furthermore, to understand a person’s personality and character from an astrological perspective, there are a multitude of factors in a horoscope to consider besides one's sun sign.
