Ed Kluska’s Astrology Newsletter

With Moon in Capricorn from this afternoon until Wednesday afternoon, the stars are on the plus side. There are no significant discordant aspects, there are several positive lunar aspects, and there is a lovely once a year Mercury-Venus aspect peaking Monday afternoon.

With Moon in Capricorn favoring Capricorn and the other earth-signs, Taurus and Virgo, it’s a good time to put on your work and administrative hat and to be more Capricorn-like: practical, orderly, patient, economical, resourceful, responsible, and productive.

Libra-Capricorn

With Sun in Libra and Moon in Capricorn, it’s good to be aware of the differences between these two signs, especially if Libra and Capricorn are emphasized in your horoscope, or you are in a relationship with a Libra-Capricorn emphasis.

Capricorn makes hard and fast distinctions while Libra sees life more in terms of relationships and balance. Capricorn is career aspirations and the drive for authority. It needs to manage the other person’s life while Libra has an innate need for close, interpersonal interactions where there is equality between two people.

Capricorn is more cautious, solemn, and serious. Libra is more friendly and lighthearted. Libra is the quintessential extrovert: sociable and easy to get to know. Capricorn is the classic introvert: guarded and harder to get to know.

Capricorn sees Libra as being too soft, accommodating, and easy-going. Libra sees Capricorn as being too rigid, uptight, and hard-working.

Libra feels Capricorn is distant and reserved. They can misconstrue Capricorn’s emotional coolness as a lack of interest. Capricorn feels Libra lacks ambition because they assume Libra’s affinity for aesthetics, comfort, beauty, and pleasantries shows a lack of drive and ambition.

Capricorn is the boss and owner. Libra is the friend and partner. Capricorn is authority figures and worldly success. Libra is peers and people sharing power and authority.

Despite these differences, this is a smart and capable combination with many intellectual talents and professional skills. Capricorn’s organizational and business skills can work with Libra’s people skills and social awareness. Successful clients with this sign combination are in human resources, fashion and design, and the world of business and art.

Sun Sign Updates

Scorpio continues to receive blessings with Mercury and the two benefic planets, Venus and Jupiter, currently in Scorpio. This planetary focus also benefits any planets and points you have in Scorpio (even if your sun sign is not Scorpio) as well as the house in your horoscope ruled by Scorpio.

Venus, the planet of love, affection, and money, retrograde at 9 degrees Scorpio is benefitting anyone born around the last days of any month, especially October, and anyone with planets and points at 09 degrees.

Mars, the planet of effort and desire, at 12 degrees Aquarius is likely bringing stress and conflicts for anyone born around the third of February, May, July, August, September, and November and for anyone with planets or points at 12 degrees of Aquarius, Taurus, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, and Scorpio.

Jupiter, the planet of hope, expansion, and good fortune, at 25 degrees Scorpio, brings opportunities for anyone born around the sixteenth of any month, especially November, and for any planets and points in your horoscope around 25 degrees.

Aries, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Libra, and Capricorn should know that Saturn almost at 04 degrees Capricorn is likely creating challenges, tests, delays, losses, and realities for anyone born around the twenty-fifth of March, May, June, July, September, and December and for anyone with points or planets around 04 degrees of Aries, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Libra, and Capricorn.

Taurus, Leo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Aquarius should know that Uranus retrograde at 01 degrees Taurus is likely creating significant shifts, changes, adjustments, and even shocks for those born early in these signs as well as for anyone with planets and points around 01 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Aquarius.

Gemini, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Pisces should know that Neptune retrograde at 14 degrees Pisces is likely bringing confusion, deception, and even debilitating situations for anyone born around the fifth of March, June, August, September, October, and December as well as for anyone with planets and points around 14 degrees of the above signs.

Aries, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Libra, and Capricorn should know that Pluto, the planet of transformation and new beginnings at 19 degrees Capricorn, is likely producing significant changes for those born around the tenth of January, April, June, July, August, and October, and for anyone with planets or points around 19 degrees of the above signs.

Sunday, October 14

03:16 PM Moon enters Capricorn where it remains until Wednesday morning when it enters the next sign, Aquarius.

05:06 PM + (Moon in Capricorn 120 Uranus in Taurus) brings opportunities for instincts, intuition, and forward-looking aspirations especially regarding practical and business matters with the earth signs, Capricorn and Taurus, involved.

07:40 PM + (Moon in Capricorn 150 Node in Leo) favors reaching out to others and networking because this aspect enhances teamwork and social interactions as well as any connections or alliances with groups large and small.

10:40 PM + - (Moon in Capricorn 00 Saturn Capricorn) this heavy-duty lunar aspect occurs once a month and can manifest both positively and negatively. It provides an atmosphere for orderly, steady, conscientious, pragmatic, and realistic plans and activities, especially involving business and professional matters; but can also bring some harsh realities about your family and the females in your life. People with this lunar aspect are responsible, hard-working, and conscientious, but can also be somber, pessimistic, lonely, and find it difficult to express their feelings and emotions.

Monday, October 15

11:00 AM + (Moon in Capricorn 45 Jupiter in Scorpio) increases the possibilities for kindness, benevolence, positive feelings, and uplifting emotional support.

04:20 PM + * (Mercury in Scorpio 00 Venus in Scorpio) this lovely once a year combination in effect this past week brings the potential for artistic inspiration and romantic inclinations. People with this aspect are typically lighthearted and have finely attuned skills with music, art, design, writing, and other creative endeavors.

Tuesday, October 16

04:53 AM + (Moon in Capricorn 00 Pluto in Capricorn) this once a month symbolizes females who are influential, productive, and psychic. This aspect also increases the possibilities for subtle yet highly charged emotional situations involving manipulation, hidden motives, and power struggles, although these factors often not realized until later.

02:01 PM - (Moon in Capricorn 90 Sun in Libra) marks the Quarter Moon and highlights the differences between the earth-sign Capricorn and the air-sign Libra described at the top of this newsletter.

05:49 PM + (Moon Capricorn 60 Jupiter in Scorpio) increases the possibilities for kindness, benevolence, positive feelings, and uplifting emotional support.

05:49 PM Moon in Capricorn Void until 03:35 AM Wednesday morning when it enters the next sign, Aquarius.

Guidelines for Using This Information

I keep this information as clear and straightforward as possible, but even for students of astrology, it can be difficult to sort everything out. There are many factors to consider, and sometimes the overlapping influences are contradictory. You might say this is just like life.

For starts, keep in mind that these newsletters are not intended to tell you what is going to happen in your life at the times given. Instead, the aspect descriptions provide some of the possible influences you can expect around the times given so you can more wisely plan for and participate in your life. Often, it is obvious which time frames are better than others for timing or starting a party, trip, decision, business, or any other event, for example.

The star (*) factors are more significance for right timing because they are in effect for a more extended time (often up to a week). Any business, project, decision, relationship, wedding, and childbirth, for example, started around the dates given will have the qualities and characteristics of the descriptions listed.

The lunar (Moon) aspects listed are less significant because they are in effect for only hours (versus days) before and until the times (Eastern Time) given, but they are still quite relevant for right timing.

The plus (+) factors for both the * factors and lunar factors are favorable. The minus (-) factors are more likely to bring challenges or difficulties. Sometimes there is a + and - factor which means the aspect can exhibit both positive and negative influences.

The most critical factor with right timing is what’s occurring in your horoscope. When negative aspects dominate your horoscope, the chances of success with right timing diminish no matter how favorable the aspects are in the sky. These newsletters cannot cover what is occurring in your horoscope, but if you apply the information in these newsletters with common sense, you have an advantage with timing your decisions and activities.

The basic premise with right timing is that it helps to have the "stars" on your side. Starting a marriage, trip, surgery, business, real estate deal, or a major purchase, for example, at an inopportune time reduces the chances of success no matter how good your intentions and how hard you try. The better the timing, the higher your chances of success. Even an hour can make a significant difference in important decisions and events.

During Void periods there tends to be a lull in the energy levels, and what you start or implement is less likely to turn out the way you planned or expected. So, it’s usually better to do things with less significance or no purpose in mind versus trying to start something new and vital. If you have a new idea, meet someone new, or start a business, for example, those activities are less likely to amount to much.

The Moon enters each sign of the zodiac about every 28 days and remains in that sign for about two and a half days. When the Moon’s in your sun sign, matters are likely to come more together for you on a short-term basis unless there are significant aspects currently challenging your horoscope.

Note that the traits and qualities I assign to each sign in these newsletters describe more the functions and meanings of the signs versus trying to describe your personality, although at times the descriptions may be entirely accurate. Furthermore, to understand a person’s personality and character from an astrological perspective, there are a multitude of factors in a horoscope to consider besides one's sun sign.
