Venus Turns Retrograde

Every year and a half Venus turns retrograde, that is, it appears to move backward in the sky relative to the earth for about forty days when it moves approximately 29 degrees ahead of the Sun. It then begins to move backward in the sky until it reaches a point approximately 21 to 29 degrees behind the Sun.
Tomorrow afternoon, Venus, the planet of love, beauty, pleasure, art, and money, turns retrograde at 11 degrees Scorpio until November 16 when it turns direct at 25 degrees Libra. During this period, Venus will bring benefits to any planets and points in your horoscope between 25 degrees Libra and 11 degrees Scorpio, and to the houses in your horoscope ruled by Libra and Scorpio.
With Mercury Retrograde, the theory is that there are more “mess ups” and complications because Mercury rules thinking and communication. Plans and decisions take a twist or an unexpected direction.
With Venus Retrograde, we can expect similar dynamics over the next six weeks regarding what Venus rules: values, money, and all matters relating to love and relationships. Because of this Venus shift, it may not be the ideal time to commit to a financial plan, a relationship, or a marriage because of the changes and reevaluations Venus Retrograde can bring.
As with Mercury Retrograde, Venus Retrograde is by no means “bad” in and of itself. Instead, it provides opportunities for us to turn our attention inward to question certain areas of our lives. For example, what do I enjoy the most in my life and what do I value and look forward to for the rest of my life? What is the reality of my finances and what am I willing to work for without compromising my values? And what is the reality of my relationships, how much do I value others, and how kind, loving, and selfless a person am I?
