Here Comes Mercury Retrograde
Ed Kluska’s Astrology Newsletter
Don’t start blaming Mercury retrograde for everything that goes wrong in your life this coming month. It may be a factor, but the misfortunes you experience are more likely related to challenging transits from Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto to your horoscope.
About five days before and after Mercury goes retrograde (in this case Thursday, March 22) and then about five days before and after Mercury goes direct (Sunday, April 15) are the most significant days for Mercury retrograde.
Many successful organizations, companies, corporations, and individuals have Mercury retrograde, but unfortunately, many people believe that when Mercury is retrograde, everything is supposed to go wrong.
But this is not the case. You just need to be more careful with your thinking, plans, and decisions. In fact, Mercury retrograde periods are favorable for more inwardly-oriented activities such as reflection, reviewing, and meditation. So, during this period, allow more time for writing, editing, researching, and problem-solving.
The problem is that when Mercury is retrograde, you do need to be more careful. Typically, there are more “mess ups” and complications than usual because Mercury rules our thinking and communication.
The decisions you make and the plans you start with Mercury retrograde are more likely to take a twist later and be seen in a different light when unforeseen assumptions and mistakes "come to light” after Mercury goes direct.
Plans and decisions take a twist or an unexpected direction. Mental lapses and mistakes, misunderstandings, false assumptions, missed appointments, lost checks, written typos, and cancellations and postponements are more likely.
For example, when you travel, you are more likely to encounter longer delays, misplaced luggage, lost hotel room keys, unforeseen detours, and inaccurate directions.
Because Mercury also rules anything to do with data and information and its transmission, expect “screwy things” to also occur with your computers, software, data, messages, phone calls, cell phones, emails, text messages, cable TV, appointments, meetings, trips, and lectures.
I’ve often seen problems and malfunctions suddenly appear with my phone, computer, and cable TV and then mysteriously resolve themselves once Mercury goes direct.
So, with Mercury retrograde approaching, back up your computer and be extra thorough, careful, and vigilant with your plans and decisions as well as communication and agreements including letters and contracts. Don't assume anything. Double-check the fine print. Reconfirm details. Make sure all nuances are clarified.
