Hurricane Harvey

Hurricane Harvey continues to intensify and is on track to be the strongest hurricane to strike the United States in twelve years. It is life-threatening and is expected to make landfall near Corpus Christi as soon as this evening.

Forecasters warn it will likely deliver historic amounts of rain — some models show mind-boggling accumulations in feet rather than inches — and cause potentially catastrophic flooding, including in Houston, the nation’s fourth-largest city and the headquarters of the U.S. oil and gas industry.

“When the Weather Service uses the language that it has been using, I know this is going to be a severe event,” said Carden, former director of emergency and international services for the Red Cross. “A hurricane in its own right is bad, but a hurricane with five to seven days’ worth of rain over the same area, I know it’s going to be a significant disaster.”

Disasters and extreme events typically relate to significant astrological aspects in the sky. Last Monday’s Great American Solar Eclipse is relevant.

As explained in recent newsletters, although eclipses are short-lived (Monday’s eclipse was exact for two minutes and forty seconds), their effects can last for years from an astrological perspective.

They can create extremes in many different ways. People and nations are affected depending on where the eclipse falls in their horoscopes. And they occur when a transiting planet triggers the formation of the eclipse itself.

Monday’s solar eclipse was at 29 degrees Leo, a point now being aspected by Mars which is probably the most significant planetary trigger because it represents energy, force, and intensity.

President Trump's Ascendant and Mars are at the end of Leo. Keep in mind that although your sun sign may not be Leo, there is an important spot in everyone’s horoscope being affected by this eclipse.

And because the effects of an aspecting planet can be a week or more before an aspect becomes exact, Mars now late in Leo is aligned with Monday’s eclipse by conjunction until early September.

All this may trigger other significant events and extremes for President Trump and around the world.
