Adjusting to Life

Ed Kluska’s Astrology Newsletter

We are always adjusting in our lives, for example, waiting at a red light, listening to our neighbor’s comments, and reacting to our children’s behavior.

We are also always adjusting the discordant planetary aspects in our horoscopes (the squares, oppositions, and inconjuncts) which require us to deal with two very different sets of needs.

With the Sun now halfway through the water-sign Cancer, and the Moon in the fire-sign Sagittarius from early this morning EDT until early Friday afternoon when it enters the next sign Capricorn, this point is well illustrated.

If any two signs require adjustments within ourselves and between people, it’s Cancer and Sagittarius which form an inconjunct (five signs apart equal 150° apart).

The other 150° sign adjustments are: Aries and Virgo, Aries and Scorpio, Taurus and Libra, Taurus and Sagittarius, Gemini and Scorpio, Gemini and Capricorn, Cancer and Sagittarius, Cancer and Aquarius, Leo and Capricorn, Leo and Pisces, Virgo and Aquarius, Virgo and Aries, Libra and Pisces, Libra and Taurus, Scorpio and Aries, Scorpio and Gemini, Sagittarius and Taurus, Sagittarius and Cancer, Capricorn and Gemini, Capricorn and Leo, Aquarius and Cancer, Aquarius and Virgo, Pisces and Leo, and Pisces and Libra.

So, if you are in a Cancer Sagittarius relationship, you have planets in Cancer and Sagittarius, or the fourth and ninth houses in your horoscope are active, you need to understand, adjust to, and integrate two fundamentally different approaches to life.

Cancer is the sensitive introvert seeking secure emotional attachments. It holds on to what is safe and secure. It is more comfortable being around home and family. They are more inclined to stay local and be around what they can count on.

On the other hand, Sagittarius is more open, direct, enthusiastic, confident, and optimistic. It wants to get out there, take chances, and have direct learning experiences. Sagittarius is more adventuresome and explorative. They seek what is new and different. They are more likely to travel abroad and interact with other nations and nationalities.

With relationships, Sagittarius stretches the insecurities and protective bands of Cancer; and Cancer has many emotional ropes and attachments for Sagittarius to cope with. Its clinging nature can frustrate the freedom and expansive nature of Sagittarius. And finally, the uninhibited intellectual directness of Sagittarius can be too much hurt for sensitive and protective Cancer.

We are all unique and different. Our horoscope tells us about all the adjustments we are making within ourselves and with all the relationships in our lives.
