The Summer Solstice was early this morning when the Sun moved from Gemini to Cancer.
Solstices and Equinoxes are important because the entrance of the Sun into the Cardinal signs (Aries Cancer Libra Capricorn) marks the official beginning of another season (Spring Summer Fall Winter) which symbolizes the start of new “energies.” In Latin, Cardinal means “that on which something turns.”
Some countries celebrate these days, and some astrologers establish horoscopes based on these moments to make quarterly global and political forecasts.
Besides the Sun moving from the air-sign Gemini to the water-sign Cancer, Mercury moved from Gemini to Cancer this morning where it remains until July 05. Earlier on June 04, Mars also moved from Gemini to Cancer where it stays until July 20.
As explained in earlier newsletters, Gemini represents the youthfulness of a teenager while Cancer is related to a nurturing parent. Gemini is the extrovert seeking mental stimulation with a variety of friends and acquaintances. Cancer is more inwardly oriented. Gemini wants social interactions wherever they can find them while Cancer can stay home and find fulfillment.
The shift from Gemini to Cancer favors the water signs (Cancer Scorpio and Pisces) and benefits the house which Cancer rules in your horoscope. For example, if Cancer rules your sixth house, you will and should be more focused on activities related to your health, diet, and exercise, your everyday habits and duties, and your job, work routine, and fellow employees.
And with Cancer now more emphasized, it’s a good time to work on and be more involved with Cancer-related factors such as: family, home, food, cooking, gardening, antiques, and domestic needs as well as agriculture, farming, real estate, and land development.
