Go & Slow

Ed Kluska’s Astrology Newsletter

Last week was busy in the sky as highlighted in last Monday’s newsletter.

Venus went direct after being retrograde for six weeks. A challenging Mars in Taurus Saturn in Sagittarius aspect peaked. The Sun moved from Aries to Taurus. Pluto went retrograde at nineteen degrees of Capricorn. Mercury in retrograde moved from Taurus to Aries. Mars moved from Taurus to Gemini. And Venus in Pisces ended its square to Saturn in Sagittarius which had been in effect for two weeks.

This week is not as busy. There is a New Moon in Taurus on Wednesday, and Mercury is still retrograde until May 03.

Today and tomorrow the aspects in the sky are favorable, but tomorrow be aware when Moon in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn at 04:46 AM EDT and then conjuncts Uranus in Aries at 02:04 PM. Both these aspects are short-term, but they can create emotionally charged situations for a few hours before and until the times given.

Last evening the Moon moved from Pisces to Aries which favors Aries and the other fire signs (Leo and Sagittarius). Late tomorrow afternoon the Moon goes Void until 9:56 PM when it enters the next sign Taurus.

If the fire sign Aries and the earth sign Taurus are in your horoscope or relationships, be aware of the following differences as explained in previous newsletters.

In a nutshell, Aries wants to go faster, and Taurus needs to go slower.

Aries is more quick, excitable, and expressive. Taurus is more calm, steady, and passive. Aries wants excitement and freedom with no boundaries. Taurus wants consistency and certainty with practical results.

Aries first response to any situation is action, whether appropriate or not. Taurus responds with more of a wait-and-see approach, or let’s allow the situation to resolve itself in its own time.

Aries enjoys action and stimulation. It seeks the challenge of new adventures. Taurus above all else wants tranquility, stability, and security.

Aries says “let’s jump in and get going” while Taurus says, “I need to make sure this is reasonable before I step forward.”

The fiery nature of Aries can scorch and upset the earthy and pragmatic nature of Taurus, and the slowness of the earth sign Taurus can smother the quickness and spontaneity of the fire in Aries.

All these contrasts between the “go” of Aries and the “slow” nature of Taurus can be challenging for your psyche and relationships, but these differences can create favorable checks and balances.

The down to earth practicality of Taurus can temper and stabilize the exuberance of Aries, and the need for Aries to get going and explore new ideas and territories can motivate Taurus to go beyond their set habits and lifestyle.
