A Busy Full Moon
Ed Kluska’s Astrology Newsletter
The Moon entered Cancer late yesterday afternoon. It opposes Pluto in Capricorn at 10:05 PM ET this evening, and squares Uranus in Aries at 03:34 AM ET tomorrow morning. Both these short-term aspects can create emotionally charged situations for a few hours.
Tomorrow morning at 06:34 AM there is a Full Moon when Moon in Cancer opposes the Sun in Capricorn.
This is a busy Full Moon with many issues and changes “floating” around our lives and the world at large because it is aligned with important planets of change: Jupiter in Libra, Uranus in Aries, and Pluto in Capricorn.
As explained in earlier newsletters, the water sign Cancer and the earth sign Capricorn operate quite differently.
Cancer is more subjective and comfortable with the inner world of emotions, feelings and sentiments. Capricorn is more objective and comfortable with the outer world of business, enterprise and science.
Cancer and Capricorn are more conservative and insecure by nature. They are not bold and flashy like the fire signs (Aries Leo Sagittarius), for example. They do not take wild and foolish risks. Radical changes and big gambles are not their style. They are more comfortable with what is known and established.
Both signs are also more introvert and defensive by nature. They need encouragement especially when they are young. They need to prove themselves before they feel comfortable and confident with themselves, their relationships and the world at large.
But once they have established themselves in the world with their career and family, they can hold great confidence and assurance.
Both signs hold on more than they let go, and this can be a problem. Cancer is more likely to become stuck with emotional disappointments related to their past relationships and family history. Capricorn is more likely to become stuck with failures related to their relationships and career.
Because of their innate defensiveness and need for protection, both signs take longer than other signs to get to know. Cancers have their shells and hesitancies, and Capricorns have their defenses and boundaries.
But both signs can grow on you like ivy. Slow but sure. When they allow you to get inside their world and you get to know them, they can become true and long–lasting friends.
Both signs also have business instincts and talents. Many CEO’s and business people have this sign combination.
They also form the foundations of society. Cancer represents homes, families and mother figures while Capricorn represents father figures and government institutions such as the police and bureaucrats regulating and protecting our homes and families.
Cancer craves security by protecting its home, family and loved ones. Capricorn craves safety by working long and hard to establish its reputation and status in the eyes of society.
The practicality and seriousness of Capricorn can smother the sensitivities and emotionality of Cancer, and the emotional ups and downs of Cancer can throw off the plans and ambitions of Capricorn.
On the plus side, Cancer can soften the dry, stiff, and detached nature of earth Capricorn who is less expressive with their feelings and emotional needs. And Capricorn can add structure and focus to the changeability and fluidity of water Cancer who is often overrun by their emotional ups and downs.
The water of Cancer and the earth of Capricorn can create beautiful flowers with enduring relationships and families. Both signs are more loyal, dedicated and faithful than most other signs.
