Where’s Your Saturn?
Ed Kluska’s Astrology Newsletter
The planet Saturn moves around your horoscope every 29 years, and when it negatively aspects any of the different points and planets in your horoscope, there tends to be stress, delays, failures and lessons which is the nature of Saturn, the great teacher.
Also, when it comes back to an important point in your horoscope every 29 years, certain themes in your life tend to repeat themselves as related to where Saturn was 29 years ago.
The importance of transiting Saturn was highlighted by astrologer Neil Grossman in a recent NCGR newsletter.
“I have noticed that in recent years, Saturn's transit of this point has coincided with exceptionally powerful events affecting our country.
The latest example is Donald Trump's astounding victory in the 2016 presidential election, which occurred with Saturn at 15 degrees of Sagittarius.
The bankruptcy filing of Lehman Brothers that set off the great financial crisis of 2008 occurred on September 15, 2008, when Saturn was at 13 degrees of Virgo. Over the next few weeks, while Saturn moved from 13 degrees of Virgo to 16 degrees of Virgo, the nation's financial institutions were in total chaos.
The situation was finally stabilized on October 3, 2008, with Congress's authorization of the $700 billion bank bailout known as TARP; Saturn was at that time transiting the fifteenth degree of Virgo.
Saturn was located at 14 Gemini during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Saturn reached its station and turned retrograde at essentially the same location (14 Gemini) shortly afterwards.
Finally, Timothy McVeigh scheduled the Oklahoma City bombing for April 19, 1995, apparently because April 19 is the anniversary of both the beginning of the American Revolution and the 1993 destruction of the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas. Saturn was located at 19 degrees of Pisces at the time of the Oklahoma City bombing, having passed through the fifteenth degree of Pisces a few weeks previously; but on the day of the bombing itself, Jupiter was located at 15 degrees of Sagittarius.”
Currently Saturn is at 18 degrees of the mutable-fire sign Sagittarius. This past year Saturn “hung around” the first fifteen degrees of Sagittarius, and this coming year Saturn will be around the last fifteen degrees Sagittarius.
Saturn is always relevant for all of us, but now it is more relevant for the mutable signs (Gemini Virgo Sagittarius Pisces) and the fire signs (Aries Leo Sagittarius).
