The slower moving planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) can drastically alter our lives and lifestyles when they make discordant transits to our personal horoscope.
What we assumed to be set and steady in our lives can suddenly, or over a period of time, be totally change and revamped. It can seem as if our lives have been blown up.
The power of this transformative phenomena came to mind recently when I read a USA Today review of the new book “Eruption” which covered the 1980 catastrophic eruption of Mount Saint Helens in the Pacific Northwest.
This volcano had been dormant for 123 years, during which time the Indian trails in the region gave way to railroads, lumbering and all manners of development.
It was mostly under the radar, and off the seismology graphs amongst the bustle of human modernity.
But when it blew up on May 18, its force was more powerful than the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, hurricane Katrina, and even the first atomic blast in 1945.
The devastated area was four times the size of Washington, D.C. It triggered a landslide which tragically killed people as far away as 13 miles from its summit. In total, 57 people died that morning. Ash was deposited in 11 states and there were billions of dollars in damages.
But with the big changes in our lives, things do eventually settle down, and what seemed like a catastrophe at the time, can end up being a change for the better over the long run.
