Capricorn Aquarius Differences

Ed Kluska’s Astrology & Mindful Living Newsletter

With Sun past the middle of Capricorn and the Moon entering Aquarius this afternoon, we are in a Capricorn Aquarius phase until early Tuesday evening when the Moon enters the next sign Pisces.

People with a Capricorn Aquarius emphasis are more logical and objective than other sign combinations, and this makes for a good analyst, researcher and scientist.

But both signs can be out of touch with their feelings and emotions. Capricorn can repress emotions and be afraid of being vulnerable or dependent. Aquarius operates strongly on the intellectual side and can also be unaware of emotional needs.

Their opposite signs, Cancer and Leo, are more comfortable with the world of feelings and emotions. They can teach Capricorn and Aquarius the importance of the softer side of life.

Furthermore, the ingrained attitudes and perspective of Capricorn and Capricorn are at odds.

Capricorn is the traditionalist who believes more in the system and cherishes stability and consistency. It is more cautious about venturing into unknown territory or changing the standard, tried-and-true ways of doing things.

Aquarius, on the other hand, is the maverick who likes to overturn and shake things up. It has an independent nature that resists being dictated to by society, conventions, customs and authorities. The urge to break from the past and to embrace what’s new and different is a part of their makeup.

Aquarius represents contemporary and progressive ideas, interests, and inclinations, many of which can at times seem ridiculous, ungrounded or impractical to the Capricorn who relies more on carefully thought-out plans and pragmatic, down-to-earth approaches.

Aquarius loves to experiment. Capricorn casts doubts which can, in a positive way, stabilize the influence on Aquarius's actions. Caution or skepticism about new ideas and anything that lacks tangible proof and has not stood the test of time also typify Capricorn.

But in the end, Capricorn Aquarius is an intelligent, ambitious and career-oriented combination, and if handled wisely, the differences can be complementary.

In fact, their combined talents can create an unstoppable team. Many clients with this emphasis have highly successful professional careers which combine business planning and management (Capricorn) with science, innovations and technology (Aquarius).
