Ed Kluska’s Astrology & Mindful Living Newsletter

With the Sun nearing the end of Scorpio and the Moon in Aquarius from early this morning until Thursday morning, we now have a Scorpio Aquarius Sun Moon combination.

If Scorpio and Aquarius are emphasized in your horoscope (such as Sun and Mercury in Scorpio and Moon and Mars in Aquarius), or you are in a Scorpio Aquarius relationship, or your eighth and eleventh houses are emphasized, you should be aware of these distinctly different needs and approaches to life.

Scorpio is depth of feelings while Aquarius is depth of intellect. The water-sign Scorpio and the air-sign Aquarius can find it challenging to connect thoughts with feelings. Water and air creates a mist.

Emotions are a powerful force. Scorpio can become obsessed with a feeling or desire while Aquarius is more emotionally detached and often out of touch with their feelings. Scorpio's passions and intensity may be met in a cool, dispassionate, and highly rational way - or simply by a total lack of comprehension by Aquarius.

Aquarius is idealistic and more abstract and conceptual while Scorpio relies more on its instincts and gut feelings. Scorpio's passions and irrational love-hate swings can baffle Aquarius’s more rational and cerebral approach to life.

Scorpio gets emotionally attached to people. It can become intensely jealous while Aquarius is more cool and aloof by comparison. Aquarius needs lots of friends and acquaintances, but Scorpio's possessiveness can create problems if you become close friends.

Scorpio is intensely private and personal while Aquarius needs to connect more with the world at large. Groups, associations and community affairs are important to Aquarius. They need intellectual companionship on a mental or spiritual level which Scorpio may or may not appreciate.

Scorpio gets totally engaged by pouring its heart and soul into whoever and whatever it is involved with while Aquarius is more distance and separate. Aquarius says, “let’s get out there and make more friends” while Scorpio says, “let’s become more intimate.“

Both are also fixed signs which means they are strong, willful and dogmatic. Neither side wants to back down from an argument or difference of opinion which obviously creates problems.

The key to resolving all these differences is realizing how much Scorpio can help Aquarius become more emotionally charged, and how much Aquarius can help Scorpio become more objective with their emotions and intensities.

Professionally, Scorpio Aquarius is a highly capable combination with many talents and professional skills. Many of my clients with this emphasis are doing well in the fields of management, psychology, medicine, science, engineering and research.
