Since announcing his bid for the United States presidency on June 16, real estate mogul Donald Trump has captured the media’s attention. The media goes where there’s something new, different and exciting, and Trump has certainly provided that appeal with his explosive words and blustery rhetoric. In response, many in the media as well as the GOP establishment and progressives have dismissed him as a “distraction” and “side show.” The Huffington Post even moved the coverage of Trump to their entertainment section. Donald Trump (born June 14, 1946 at 10:54 AM, Queens, NY) was born right at a Full Moon. This means his direct, righteous and opinionated Moon in Sagittarius is right opposite his talkative, hand-waving Sun in Gemini. Joan Rivers, the acerbic comedian, had this same Gemini Sagittarius Full Moon alignment. His rising sign is Leo, and if his birth time is accurate, Mars, the planet of assertion and competition, is right on his Leo Ascendant. This accounts for his willful, direct, brash, combative and bombastic nature. And probably his unusual, reddish hair as well. The purpose of this newsletter is not to judge his character or to make political predictions. Its intent is to provide an example of how astrology works. Specifically, why has Donald Trump been getting so much attention to the point of almost consuming the news? Recently an unusual alignment of Venus, Mercury and Jupiter had been clustered in the sky and was “sitting” right on his regal Leo Mars Ascendant. This means something special would likely happen in his life, and in general, it would be a good time for him to spread his wings and project his regal authority onto the masses. The most significant part of this alignment was transiting Jupiter (the planet of opportunity and advancement) right on his Mars and Ascendant. These Jupiter alignments only occur once every twelve years in a horoscope, and typically brings promotion, advances, opportunities and successes. He has benefitted from this positive time period in his horoscope, and his candor is appealing to the many people fed up with all the political pandering, hypocrisy and gridlock in Washington. No matter what he says or does, they like the fact that he is a Washington outsider and they believe he can’t be any worse.
